After a Christmas break, 2016 kicks off for The Voodoo Sheiks with an eagerly anticipated appearance (well on our part at least) at the Great British Rock & Blues Festival in Skegness. This is a 3 day event with acts as diverse as Hawkwind, Doctor Feelgood, Otis Grand and even Courtney Pine, so there will certainly be something for everybody! We are extremely grateful to Stephen Stanley of Solid Entertainment for putting us on the ‘Introducing’ Stage, where we will be putting in another freaking ‘Voodoo Sheiking’ high energy set on Sunday 24th at 5.00pm.

After a growing number of new gigs last year for us, we are looking at returning to some familiar haunts like The Old House at Home, Dorking and The Malt Shovel – Horsham, but we are always pleased to play new gigs to new appreciate audiences and January sees us getting a good start to the year on this front playing our 1st appearance at The Old Moot House in Kingston (on Thames that is, not Jamaica ) Why not come along, join in the fun and see what you are missing if you haven’t seen us before, or if you have, just come & give us some support & say hello. It’s always good to see a friendly face, we certainly couldn’t do it without all your the regular support, and the banter.

February 22nd see us with another new gig, this time at the fantastic Bull’s Head in Barnes for their Stormy Monday Club, where we will be shooting a double barrel combination of both Rhythm & Blues from the Hip. No prisoners will be taken here, even if it is a Monday!

Don’t forget there’s still time to book a B&B in March for the Swanage Blues Festival on 4th, 5th & 6th. It gets busier every year & is always a popular way of seeing many great bands in one place and has a really great vibe, especially when the sun comes out. This year sees us at The Bay View on the Saturday Afternoon, where you can see us along with Red Butler and a 1st outing at Swanage for The Kareña K Band. So you can catch us all without even moving from your seat (that’s if you can find one!) Our normal appearance on the Sunday afternoon at The Anchor rounds off a cracking weekend with another high energy set (or three! as is usually the case, as we just can’t stop once you get us started)

Looking forward to the middle of the year we are extremely proud to be supporting the amazing Laurence Jones band, who continue to get better every time we see them, this time at The Jazz Café in Camden 3rd April – A fantastic venue – Please see the Tickets for Sale on the website. Also we are absolutely stoked to be playing our own gig this year at The Half Moon, The Half Moon Putney on 21st July. We loved playing there on two previous support occasions, but this year we get to do our own gig with a much longer set, and we have also invited The Karena K Band to support us. Please give us both some big support for this Gig in the historic Pub’s back room.

Again all tickets available from us on the website as usual.

No doubt there’s more to come in the rest of the year, but that gives you a flavour of what’s cooking in the ‘Voodoo Pot’ for the 1st half of the Year.

Needless to say it’s already looking tasty!
